The images were photographed at the historic Troc Burlesque Theater in Philadelphia in 1974. Adler's timeless photographs capture subjects and vignettes that humanize his subjects while drawing the viewer inside the world of burlesque. Robert Adler was fortunate to be able to capture in pictures with his gritty, documentary style, the personality of the theater, the employees and most of all, the performers both on and off the stage. A rare glimpse into the back stage story of the waning years of burlesque.
